About

GENERAL

The CBL is a non-profit organization that runs a recreational program for the purpose youth of our area to learn the fundamentals of baseball.. We do not have a residency requirement and are non-discriminatory. Annually we have 400 boys and girls from ages 4 to 15 enrolled from many communities around the Chardon area. WE DO NOT HAVE RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS.

COACHING

Even though the CBL is a recreation program, we feel with quality coaching you get quality baseball. Our program requires our coaches to fill out an application which is reviewed by the division director. Coaches are then selected by the division director with the support of the board. Our coaches are asked to attend any courses or training classes that are required and paid for by the league.

DIVISIONS

The Chardon Baseball League has different divisions based on age. (T-Ball ages 4,5 & 6) (Farm ages 7 & 8) (Minor ages 9 &10) (Major ages 11 &12) (Pony ages 13, 14, & 15 if not in 9th grade or higher)

CODE OF CONDUCT

We ask all parents to review our Code of Conduct with their child. We use this document to maintain a fun and safe environment for everyone associated with the Chardon Baseball League. We expect everyone attending a CBL game or function to abide by our Code of Conduct.   The enjoyment of the game by our young athletes is out first priority.

SPONSORSHIP

Every year we ask local businesses to support our efforts by sponsoring in some way to help keep our signup costs affordable for all families. Sponsors help to offset the cost of uniforms, equipment, field maintenance, and umpires. We have several different sponsorship packages and We have many businesses that support us year after year. If your business can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated and the funds will be put to good use.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our league is run by a board of directors that meets at least once a month to conduct league business. These regular board meetings are open to the public and we encourage open participation. The board consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Division Directors, and Groundskeeper. With a few exception (holidays) the board meets every 3rd Sunday of the month. Meetings are held in Chardon, at the cabin in the square, at 7:00 PM.
